There for You is UNISON’s unique charity, set up to help members in difficulties – and this year, the COVID-19 crisis is making life harder for many of our already-stretched members. The welfare charity has set up a special fund to respond to calls for help because of the pandemic

If you are a member and you are experiencing financial difficulties, whatever the circumstances, our charity There for You can offer you support.

You may have financial problems for reasons including:

  • relationship breakdown;
  • loss of income;
  • suffering from a long illness;
  • needing to buy equipment because of a disability;
  • caring for someone with special needs or an illness.

Grants and funding

There is no guarantee that we can offer you financial help, but thousands of members and their families do benefit from our support every year.

School uniform grants

UNISON’s scheme helps members on low incomes deal with the cost of school uniforms.

Families on low incomes can struggle to make ends meet, especially just before the start of the new school year.
